What is Photobiomodulation?

Photobiomodulation Therapy (PBMT) combines visible red light and near-infrared light to deliver therapeutic energy directly to the body’s cells. This light energy is absorbed by the mitochondria — often referred to as the “powerhouses” of our cells — helping to support natural cellular function, recovery, and overall wellbeing.

Our skin and body tissues naturally absorb light and convert it into usable energy. Different wavelengths penetrate to varying depths beneath the skin, helping to stimulate circulation, oxygen delivery, and cellular repair. This process also encourages the release of nitric oxide, the body’s natural vasodilator, which supports healthy blood flow and tissue oxygenation.

Red light therapy is widely recognised for its ability to support healthy skin, recovery, performance, and overall wellness. By stimulating fibroblast activity and collagen production, it can help improve skin tone and texture while also supporting the body’s natural healing processes.

The Science

BACKED BY SCIENCE...Tons of it

Light therapy causes biologic effects because different wavelengths are absorbed by specific proteins.  In recent years scientists reported that two proteins, haemoglobin found in red blood cells and myoglobin found in muscle, both absorb red and infrared light and during this absorption, nitric oxide is released.  Nitric oxide triggers the vasodilation effects of red and infrared length.

Wavelengths – Red 633nm and 660nm, Infrared 850nm and 880nm

Pulse 0 – 15,000 Hz

50/50 COMBINATION OF RED & NEAR-INFRARED LIGHT

Provides ultimate versatility for overall health by delivering an equal percentage of both red light at 660 nm and near-infrared light at 850 nm.

660 NM - RED LIGHT

A greater percentage of red light is absorbed by your skin, leading to increased collagen production and optimal skin health.

850 NM - NEAR-INFRARED LIGHT

Near-infrared light penetrates deeper within your body - enhancing muscle recovery and reducing joint pain.

Red light has been studied in over 500 human trials and 4000 lab studies with injuries reducing pain, relaxing muscles/joints and increasing blood circulation.
